Sharing Hope: A Solution to Pollution

with special guest Towa elder Charlie Toledo

Hi everyone,

Though I call this an audio file on screen, clearly it is more visual than that :)

My thanks to Charlie for making time for this short clip—plus one more to come soon. We have known each other for 25+ years, and I remember how awestruck I was to meet her, after hearing her report on the U.N.’s Fourth World Conference on Women from which she had just returned. (See https://www.un.org/en/conferences/women/beijing1995#). Here was a woman with vision, incredible energy and the determination to make change, which she has continued to do ever since.

“The 1995 Beijing Platform for Action flagged 12 key areas where urgent action was needed to ensure greater equality and opportunities for women and men, girls and boys. It also laid out concrete ways for countries to bring about change.”
